Abstract:

We captured and ringed 272 Moustached Warblers (Acrocephalus melanopogon) at Lake Ludas, (N Yugoslavia) between 1990-1999, of which 33 individuals (12.1%) moulted. Half of the individuals (49%) moulted body feathers. The moult of wing feathers started earlier in adults (17 July) than in immatures (24 July), and lasted 66.6 days in adults, and 51 days in immatures. The moulting process and the moulting curves were similar in the two age groups.
