Abstract:

The Zempln Mountains (NE Hungary) have a rich and unique avifauna. To preserve this richness, an important practical task is to incorporate ornithological research results into the forestry management plans. This can facilitate the long term work of both conservation and forestry. Based on these forestry management plans, most of the harmful forestry practices for given species can be avoided. This conservation action has been based on the cooperation of the Zempln Chapter of the BirdLife Hungary, forestry and nature conservation authorities.
